Birthday Rumblings

(Today is my birthday and I am sharing my thoughts about this important moment in my life)

You did not realize the beautiful unfolding of a morning mist until today. Amidst your hurried and regimented life, you are certainly missing pounds of gold that are more than enough to make your weary soul rested. You traverse your life with focused determination to make a difference and scale higher strata only to feel empty as the starless sky looms in.

You sometimes feel inadequate despite the many accolades you have received. You have no time to touch the visible for your direction is always parallel to new adventures-- discoveries you wish to unravel.

What is your parameter? Is it the affirmation that you are walking and following the imprints of demigods?

Deep.

Only to realized that your wanting for more only fuels self-flagellation making it more difficult for you to exclaim eureka!

The bulwark of immeasurable talent and compounded by your pregnant heart is enough to put you to slumber.

Now free your mind.

Strategic Management 101

I had a refreshing talk at the Philippine Marketing Association's (PMA) seminar this afternoon because I managed to inject the importance of Strategic Management in our function as marketing professionals.
Strategic management seem to be so "big" that ordinary marketing mortals would have difficulty absorbing it. In today's blog, I will discuss Strategic Management and its importance in the organization.
Strategic management is a technique you can use to create a favorable future and help your organization to prosper. To create this favorable future, you must involve your organization's goals in envisioning the most desirable future and then in working together to make this vision a reality. The key to strategic management is to understand that people communicating and working together will create this future, not some words written on paper.
Strategic management does not replace traditional management activities such as budgeting, planning, monitoring, marketing, reporting, and controlling. Rather, it integrates them into a broader context, taking into account the external environment , internal organizational capabilities, and your organization's overall purpose and direction.
Each organization's experience with strategic management is unique, reflecting the organization's distinct culture, environment, resources, structure, management style, and organizational features. However, our experience in working with leaders and managers in a variety of organizations indicates that similar questions and concerns develop as organizations implement strategic management. In my experience as consultant, leaders who have addressed these questions and concerns developed a common basis of experience that is valuable for those beginning a strategic management process.
Managers and business owners use strategic planning as a management function to allocate resources to programmed activities calculated to achieve a set of goals in a dynamic and competitive environment.
On my next blog, I will talk about Strategic Management Model and on how you could introduce and apply this discipline in your organization.

I Was Raped!

I admire Father James Reuter, SJ because of his love for the Philippines until his true colors manifested this week during the promulgation of the rape case filed by Nicole against Daniel Smith, an american serviceman. The remarks of Reuter is pathetic and disappointing. He insinuated in the interview that the decision of Judge Pozon is flawed because what happened was a consensual sex. How dare you Father James Reuter! Is it because Daniel Smith is an American and you realized that your affinity to your mother country is more important than the dignity and respect that has been snatched from Nicole?

I would have accepted it had Father Reuter just ministered to Daniel Smith instead of openly siding with him. There are more than 3,000 rape cases filed against Americans in Olongapo City alone, and none of the Filipina complainants have won. It is only now that justice has been served. It is only now that the Philippines is standing and reclaiming its dignity.

How dare you Father James Reuter! You have just raped millions of Filipinos because of your unfortunate statement.

Now, Father Reuter you can go back to America. You have just uncovered your true colors!
